Week 19

IMPORTANT -----   Our class is writing a class book that we will publish (well, just for all of us).  The students selected an animal of their choice and they are writing a few interesting facts about that animal.  We have checked out books from our school library, used classroom books, and some have researched on the internet with the help of a parent or me.  We will compile all of our pages together and have them bound together for a real book.  Now, in order for me to get this done, I need each of you to sign a form and return to me immediately (this form is going home on Tuesday, please return Wednesday).  If you would like to purchase the book (total cost $22.90) you may, but if you do not, please check the no box and still sign the form.  The company will not publish without the parent form. However, I get a special price of only $10 for book, but I only get 4, so, the first 4 parents to email me can purchase the books for only $10 total.  If more than 4 parents would like the book, then I am sorry, the others will have to pay full price.

Tuesday another note is going home about family access to Skyward, the program our district uses to manage all students.  Check it out, you did use it when you registered for parent teacher conferences and you will be using it more in the near future.  It is a pretty slick program.  Make sure you keep the information sheet in a safe place.

JR ACHIEVEMENT - We are looking for a volunteer to do the Jr Achievement lessons with the class.  Everything you need comes in a little bag and you just follow the script.  Please let me know if you are interested.

OTHER CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERS - Because of a few scheduling conflicts, I just need some new commitments of who would like to be a regular classroom volunteer.  You can do weekly, every other week or once a month.  You can stay for 1 hour or as long as you would like.  Please reaffirm with me by email what day you can come and the time you prefer.  Morning is best for me, but I will take help anytime.  Thank you for your help!!!

Book orders are due today and math homework is due today.  Tomorrow we will be checking the reading logs so please make sure they are up to date.  The last few weeks of reading have not been good.  Let's not lose momentum as reading everyday is essential to academic success.
