Week 37

I hope everyone had an opportunity to view the eclipse.  I thought it was pretty cool.  This Thursday is our big 1st Grade Program from 1:00 - 2:30.  Students are to come to school in regular clothes and bring their "best" clothes in a bag (dresses, skirts, button up shirts...).  We are rehearsing with props, your child may bring these items with their name on it: 

• Sunglasses
• Umbrella
• Doll

After lunch, we will give the students time to change.   This Friday we will be having an ice cream party in our class.  I will need volunteers to bring:

• Ice cream
• Chocolate syrup
• Topping
• Topping
• NO NUTS please
• Bowls
• Spoons
• Napkins

All library books are due this Wednesday.
All little white books need to be returned by Wednesday. 
Bobcat award cut off is this Friday.

Here are a few things we will be doing this week:

 Language Arts:

• Spelling or, er  List of Words 
  
• Dictation Sentences: 
• Please give her a fork, some corn, or a horn.
• First break the cookie, second eat it.

• Word Wall Words -began, break, divide, head, laugh, second, sure
  
• Comprehension - evaluate, predict, infer
• Writing - write an opinion

Math:

• Adding and subtracting with tens and ones
• Fractional parts
  

 Social Studies/Science/Art

• Insects
