Week 3

Here is what is happening this week:

• Monday - No School, begin Road To Success reading log (20 minutes/day)
• Tuesday - Library - students can check out 2 books each week.  If they take them home, please remind them to bring them back each Tuesday.
• Wednesday - P.E.
• Thursday - FIELD TRIP - Red Butte Gardens and International Peace Gardens.  Students may bring a water bottle.  Please wear comfortable walking shoes.
• Friday - Fun Friday activity for all the students who have earned it. Music.

Here are some things we are learning:

• Language Arts:  What to write, how to write words we do not know, building stamina to read independently, phonemic awareness, phonics, reading comprehension
• Math:  Comparing 2 numbers, number words
• Science:  Plants as living things
• Social Studies:  Living and nonliving things in our environment.  Respect our environment.

 Homework:

Read for 20 minutes every day and record on Reading Log (in red folder).  Each week we will tally up the days read by all students.  We are competing with the whole school and our class wants to win! So, please ensure your child reads everyday and record the days read on the Reading Log.
